Half Dome

"Half Dome" is a watercolor collage landscape painting created from two paintings. Curved strips were cut from a second painting and pasted on the first painting. Additional collage was added to emphasize the vertical thrust of Half Dome and El Captain. Mirror Lake reflects the pine trees and other landscape features.

Poinsettia

"Poinsettia" was created from two watercolor collage paintings by pasting a portion of the second cut into strips upon the first painting. The effect is to confuse the viewer whether the first painting or the second is more dominate. The mixture of the red, green and white leaves of the flower enhances the composition.

New Watercolor Collage

I have been creating watercolor collage paintings for over ten years. Since November 2010, I have been experimenting by combining two paintings. The original painting is modified when a second painting is cut in stripes and glued on top of the first one. These stripes can be straight when cut on a paper cutter or curved when cut by hand with scissors. Additional collage and watercolor are added to please the eye.

Portland Headlight

In April 2011, I exhibited with the Greater Salem Art Association for their 25th Anniversary Show. "Daffodils" was critically reviewed by the public. One comment was that the curved lines felt like a sheer curtain with the breeze blowing. Daffodils 22 by 20 inches is available for purchase.
